Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children who would grow up with them eventually. She learned young how to overcome of her difficulties by using her rich and imaginative imagination. Before learning how to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own music. Once she had her first guitar at the age of eight, she started to play on radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. Gold Band Records is a small label that is independent. While still in highschool She made her mark local, but longed for an even bigger stage. When she graduated from high school in 1964 she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton got her first gig in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton following the breakup of their relationship with Wagoner she wrote the song I Will Always Love You and had it reach No. The song of Parton in 1974. I Will Always Love You reached No.
