Seasons 1-8 are when shippers put bids on two shipping shipments using the uShip platform using a reverse auction model. Bids are typically made with specific remarks on the costs and risks and also the motivations and skills. When the time period for an auction is reached the auction is usually awarded to the lowest bidder however, at the discretion of the buyer however, it can be awarded to a higher bidder who has a greater average feedback rating from past clients. To break any ties, feedback ratings are applied. In the season 9 finale, shippers collect their loads from the shipping broker, but bidding is not shown.Winners take their cargo to the port and try to deliver it in good condition to the client or the receiver by the deadline. When the loads are delivered, the feedback ratings are displayed from clients. In the final episode, the total revenue of each shipper is calculated on-screen, with the cost of the transaction (fuel and labor, late delivery penalties fines, etc.) are subtracted from the bid to determine the overall profits or losses. Sometimes, shippers will agree to haul several additional loads on the same trip, including the additional cost into their tally. The shipper might not be able to finish the task due to safety or the size of the load. A shipper may hire someone else to help on the task. Once the job is done and the shippers have decided how to split the proceeds. The advancement of each shipment is disrupted by funny criticisms from other shippers during seasons 1-8.
